Talking Therapy

There are many barriers to access when it comes to talking therapies and an undeserved stigma that hovers around, too. Let’s Talk Therapy was created with this in mind, with the aim of being down to earth and approachable; helping people feel more relaxed and comfortable.  A reminder that therapy is, essentially, just talking.

So, let’s talk...

Luisa's holistic approach to therapy comes from an interest in the link between mental health and physical health, which was the focus of her MA research. The knowledge gained from this research, including various CPD courses and further reading, has really underpinned her practice. This has helped to broaden her awareness of what may be happening on a physical level, as well as mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Luisa likes to work with a conscious awareness of the body and welcomes what it may be trying to tell us; consciously or subconsciously. With her experience in the creative industry, Luisa loves to hear about your creative interests and encourages you to use these in your therapy journey, if you so wish.

Throughout the day we find ourselves travelling through a range of different emotions for different reasons. Some of these emotions are adaptive, aiding us in our attempts to achieve our goals whilst others are maladaptive, preventing us from doing what we want to do or being who we want to be.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) helps us refine the skill of emotion regulation so that we are better equipped to manage and process troublesome and intense emotions (Positive Psychology 2021). Emotion-Focussed Therapy recognises the importance of emotions and places them front and centre in therapy sessions (Good Therapy 2016).
